We’ll start your appointment by freezing your mouth to ensure your comfort. Next we prepare the tooth and make sure we get rid of any built up bacteria. We will then apply the composite resin that has been colour matched to the rest of your teeth. It will be hardened using a special light, and then contoured to fit amongst your other teeth.
Composite fillings usually last for 10+ years.
Traditional or mercury fillings can be harmful to your body. Additionally, traditional fillings must be fully replaced if they crack while composite fillings can be repaired. Most people also think that composite fillings are more aesthetically pleasing than other metal fillings.
Most of our treatments are covered by a majority of insurance companies. For a more detailed explanation of your coverage please call your service provider.
Cavities are one of the most common dental problems an adult can face, and fillings are one of the most common solutions. By replacing the damaged area with a fortified material, fillings leave your tooth stronger and less vulnerable to future damage. According to the American Dental Association, it’s estimated that about 175 million fillings are completed each year!
At Pearl Dental Studio, we take care of our patient’s teeth by providing natural-looking, tooth-colored fillings that leave your smile beautiful and, most importantly, healthy!
There’s no shame in getting a cavity. Did you know that about one in four adults in the United States have at least one cavity? Over half of all US children ages 6 and up also have at least one in their permanent teeth. On top of the pain they can cause when eating and speaking, cavities can spread severe illness via infection spread into the bloodstream. There’s no shame in getting a cavity, but when left untreated, they can lead to extreme health problems outside of the mouth.
That’s where fillings come in. Fillings are one of the most common types of dental procedure performed once a tooth has visible signs of decay. Debris is removed from the tooth and the missing tooth structure is replaced with material known as a filling. While there is a range of materials that can be used for fillings, at Pearl Dental we only perform tooth-colored fillings.
Fillings are a fast, effective dental treatment for cavities that work by removing diseased tissue in the affected tooth and replacing it with a strong, durable material. These materials might include metal, glass, porcelain, and many more. At Pearl Dental Studio, we specialize exclusively in composite, or tooth-colored, fillings.
Composite fillings are one of the most popular types of dental fillings. The procedure is fast, the benefits are long-lasting, and the results are gorgeous! Composite fillings use a strong-bonding and durable resin material that matches the color of your tooth, leaving your smile looking natural and healthy. These versatile fillings bond to your tooth more strongly than fillings that use other materials, which means less drilling and more smiling!
Composites are discreet, require smaller holes than other fillings, and can be completed in a single visit. If you think composite fillings are right for you, call the professionals at Pearl Dental Studio today!
Not at all! While cavities are the most common reason for needing a tooth filling, they’re not the only reason you may need one. Fillings can help repair small holes in teeth, or restore teeth that are chipped, cracked, broken, or otherwise damaged. They can also repair teeth that have been worn down by excessive teeth grinding or repeated chewing of hard materials.
A toothache is the most immediate sign that you may need a filling. If you are experiencing pain in a tooth, a tooth has become sensitive to hot or cold temperatures, or a tooth is damaged, it may be time to schedule an appointment with one of our dental professionals to evaluate your situation. Contact Pearl Dental Studio to set up an appointment and let us help you get your smile back!
In some situations, a filling may not be your best option. Inlays, Onlays, and crowns can provide similar restorative solutions depending on the category and severity of your circumstances. Pearl Dental Studio offers a full range of restorative and cosmetic dental services in addition to fillings. Visit us today and let us help you decide which option will work best for you!
